You will be part of an established, collaborative team with exposure to major development and regeneration schemes, alongside opportunities to broaden your experience through nationally significant and potentially international projects.

With strong supervision, quality work and opportunities for professional development, this position would suit a technically capable solicitor looking to progress their career in construction disputes.

The Role

You will advise a varied client base, including developers, contractors, public sector bodies, investors and registered providers, on a range of contentious construction and engineering matters.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Advising on construction and engineering disputes, including adjudication, mediation and litigation.

  • Managing and supporting claims arising from complex construction projects.

  • Assisting with disputes progressing under the pre-action protocol for construction and engineering disputes.

  • Advising on contractual interpretation, risk allocation and dispute avoidance.

  • Working with clients to identify practical, commercially focused solutions to contentious issues.

  • Supporting matters involving major development, infrastructure, regeneration and mixed-use projects.

  • Building strong relationships with clients and other professional advisers.

  • Contributing to business development, marketing initiatives and the wider growth of the practice.

  • Working collaboratively with colleagues across related disciplines to deliver a joined-up service to clients.

The work will primarily involve domestic projects, with scope to gain exposure to international matters as your experience develops.

About You

We are keen to hear from qualified solicitors with a genuine interest in construction disputes and a desire to develop their expertise within an established practice.

You will ideally have:

  • At least 2 years’ PQE in contentious construction law.

  • Strong technical knowledge and the ability to analyse complex legal issues.

  • Experience or exposure to adjudication, mediation, construction litigation and related dispute resolution procedures.

  • Excellent drafting, communication and analytical skills.

  • A commercially minded approach to advising clients.

  • Strong relationship-building skills and a commitment to delivering excellent client service.

  • A proactive attitude, with the confidence to take responsibility and contribute to the wider team.

  • A willingness to continue developing your understanding of the construction and engineering sectors.

You will be academically strong, enthusiastic about your work and keen to learn from experienced colleagues while developing your own professional profile.

The Benefits

The successful candidate can expect a competitive benefits package, including:

  • Annual bonus scheme.

  • Group personal pension scheme.

  • Private medical insurance.

  • Access to additional health and lifestyle benefits, including discounted gym memberships and health assessments.

  • Ongoing training and career development opportunities.

  • Exposure to high-quality work within an established construction practice.

  • A collaborative working environment with strong supervision and support.
